 Counselling

I am a compassionate person and I will listen to you and your unique story in a safe space, where we can explore together. We will look to build a connection and relationship that enables us to do this in a way that works for you, for example we can use the space to talk, we can explore using metaphors, or work creatively.

I provide a confidential, professional, safe space where we can explore the issues that are concerning you. I know it can be hard to decide to come to counselling so I will try to put you at ease and answer any questions about it as you need me to.

You might be here because you feel something’s not right or you might know exactly what you want to work on; either way counselling can help. No matter what issues you bring, I will always offer you my full attention and respect. I can work alongside you in order to support you in finding your way.

I have worked alongside people who have come for lots of different reasons and from many cultures and generations. I will hear you whatever you bring. In our first session we will discuss what has brought you to me and, if you wish to proceed, we will make an agreement to work together. We can also discuss whether we can meet face to face, online or whether you want to look at walk and talk therapy.

I have experience in the following areas in particular:

Grief and loss- I worked at Cruse for a long time and am a trained grief counsellor for people of all ages, including children

Relationships- I have a particular interest in how people relate to one another, for example in a family, couple, or friendship, and what happens when relationships break down or change in some way

Identity- I am an LGBTQIAA+ ally and have walked alongside people who are exploring their sexuality or gender identity

Difficult experiences and feelings- I am a trauma informed counsellor and have experience of listening to people expressing difficult feelings, including intrusive and suicidal thoughts

Depression- I will hold space for you and help you find your way

My aim is to make counselling as accessible to all as possible. It currently costs £50 per session and a session is 50 minutes long. I do offer a limited number of reduced-fee sessions for those unable to pay the full rate, so please come and talk to me.
